Terms of Service

The short version. Lad Bingo is a group game for trips and events. By using it you agree to behave decently towards the other players, not upload anything illegal or harmful, and accept that the app never handles real money. If you host a game, you might pay a small one-off or yearly fee through the App Store or Play Store. If you cancel an annual subscription, the games you hosted will be removed. The full detail is below.

1. The agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "your") and 21C-TECH LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13919300) with registered office at Apartment S2 The Shore, 22-23 The Leas, Westcliff-On-Sea, SS0 8FF ("21C-TECH", "we", "us", "our"). They govern your access to and use of Lad Bingo (the "Service") — including the mobile applications, the websites at ladbingo.co.uk, and any related features.

By installing, signing in to, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be aged 17 or over to use the Service, matching the App Store age rating. By using the Service you confirm that you are at least 17 years old. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we reasonably believe is held by a person under 17.

3. Accounts and identity

The Service does not require you to create a traditional account with an email and password. Instead, your device is identified by a randomly-generated identifier stored on it. You choose a display nickname when you join a game.

You are responsible for:

The security of the device on which the Service is installed.
Anything done under your device identifier or nickname.
The content of your nickname, profile photo, and any other information you submit (which must not violate section 6).

If you uninstall the app or reset your device, your identifier is lost. We cannot recover game state tied to a lost identifier — this is a deliberate trade-off for not collecting personal account information.

4. Roles: host and player

The Service distinguishes between:

Hosts. The person who creates a game. Hosts pay the relevant Subscription Fee or per-Trip Fee (see section 5).
Players. Anyone invited to a host's game. Players never pay. Players can play, tap squares, upload prove-it photos (where required by the host), and appear on the leaderboard. Players cannot edit the game card, invite other players, or change game settings — that is the host's exclusive right.

5. Fees, payment, and subscriptions

5.1 Two purchase options for hosts

Trip Pass — £1.99 per game, one-off purchase. Unlocks the creation of a single game. After that game is created, the entitlement is "spent". You may purchase a new Trip Pass for each new game.
Annual Subscription — £4.99 per year, auto-renewing. Unlocks unlimited game creation for the period of the subscription. Starts with a 5-day free trial at sign-up.

Both purchase options unlock the same set of features. Players never pay regardless of which option a host has chosen.

5.2 5-day free trial

If you sign up to the Annual Subscription, the first 5 days are free. You may cancel at any time during the trial by going to Settings → Subscriptions on your device, with no charge. If you do not cancel before the end of the 5th day, you will be charged £4.99 and the Annual Subscription will begin.

Limits during the trial:

You may create up to one (1) game during the trial. You cannot delete that game until the trial ends and you become a paying subscriber.
That trial game accepts up to three (3) invited players beyond yourself. The fourth invite is blocked.

These limits exist to prevent abuse of the free-trial period; they do not apply once you become a paying subscriber.

5.3 Auto-renewal of the Annual Subscription

The Annual Subscription renews automatically at £4.99 unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in line with Apple App Store and Google Play standard rules. We do not store, see, or otherwise process your payment card details — billing is handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play.

5.4 Cancellation of the Annual Subscription

What happens when an Annual Subscription truly expires. If your Annual Subscription is cancelled or your billing fails such that the subscription is no longer renewed after Apple's or Google's grace period, all games you hosted and all Trip Recap links you created will be removed from the Service. This includes any prove-it photos in those games and any final leaderboards.

This does not affect games where you were an invited player — those remain accessible to their host.

Trip Pass purchases are not affected by Annual Subscription cancellation — they are one-off purchases for specific games and remain usable until those games naturally end.

5.5 Refunds

Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple App Store and Google Play under their respective policies. We do not issue direct refunds. If you believe you have a refund-worthy issue, please contact the relevant store first; if their decision is not what you expected, contact us at hello@ladbingo.co.uk and we will assist.

5.6 Price changes

We may change Trip Pass or Annual Subscription prices in future. You will be notified in advance of any price change to your existing Annual Subscription via Apple App Store or Google Play before any new price takes effect. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.

6. Acceptable use

You must not, and must not encourage or permit others to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any UK or applicable law.
Upload, share, or display any content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, or involves a person under 18.
Upload content depicting any person who has not consented to being photographed and to that photograph being shared with the game's crew.
Use the Service to bully, harass, intimidate, or stalk any individual.
Promote, facilitate, or instruct on illegal drugs, weapons, self-harm, or activities that pose a serious risk of physical injury.
Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure.
Use the Service in a way that violates Apple App Store or Google Play terms of service or community guidelines.

We reserve the right to remove any content, suspend any account, and terminate any subscription that we reasonably believe breaches these rules, with or without prior notice.

7. User content and intellectual property

7.1 You own your content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service, including prove-it photos, profile photos, custom challenge text, and game configurations.

7.2 Licence you grant us

By submitting content to the Service, you grant 21C-TECH LIMITED a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content solely as necessary to operate the Service — for example, displaying your prove-it photo to the other players in the same game, including it in that game's Trip Recap, and making it available to anyone the game's host has chosen to share the Trip Recap link with. This licence ends when your content is deleted from the Service.

7.3 Trip Recap visibility

The Trip Recap is a private URL containing a 32-character random token. Anyone the host shares the URL with can view the recap, including any prove-it photos in the game. You acknowledge and accept that prove-it photos you upload as a player may appear in the game's Trip Recap and that the host controls the sharing of that link.

7.4 Our content

The Service itself — including the design, brand marks, "Lad Bingo" name, the BINGO stamp lockup, software, and any text or imagery we created — is owned by 21C-TECH LIMITED or its licensors and is protected by UK and international intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without our prior written consent.

8. Stakes are not gambling and the app does not touch money

Hard rule. The Service includes an optional "Stakes" feature where a host can display a £ amount and/or a forfeit on the game card. This is visual display only. 21C-TECH LIMITED does not, has never, and will never:

Hold, transfer, or process any money between players;
Act as a stakeholder, escrow, or party to any wager;
Process winnings, payouts, or settlements.

Any actual settlement of stakes — money or otherwise — is solely a private arrangement between the players outside the Service. 21C-TECH LIMITED accepts no responsibility for any dispute, loss, or claim arising from any such arrangement. The Service is not a gambling product; it does not require, accept, or enable real-money wagering through the Service.

9. Photo retention

Prove-it photos uploaded to a game are retained for 30 days after that game ends. At the 30-day mark, the host receives an in-app prompt: keep the photos for another 90 days (renewable), or remove them immediately. If the host does not respond within a reasonable window after the prompt, the photos are removed automatically. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.

10. Reporting and moderation

If you encounter content in the Service that breaches section 6, please report it to hello@ladbingo.co.uk with as much detail as you can (game name, host name if known, square text or photo, your concern). We aim to respond to reports within 48 hours. Confirmed breaches will result in content removal and, depending on severity, suspension or permanent ban of the responsible account.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or any applicable law, or if doing so is necessary to protect the Service, other users, or 21C-TECH LIMITED. We will give reasonable notice where doing so is practical and lawful.

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. You may cancel an Annual Subscription at any time through Settings → Subscriptions on your device.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions, and other terms relating to the Service that might otherwise be implied by statute, common law, or the law of equity, including any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under English law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for breach of any term implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979.

13. Limitation of liability

Subject to section 12 (rights you cannot lose):

We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, business, goodwill, or anticipated savings.
We are not liable for any actions taken by any other player or host on the Service, including any dispute over stakes (see section 8), any harm arising from a dare or challenge, or any consequences of any photo shared between players.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service, however arising, will not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 21C-TECH LIMITED, its officers, employees, and contractors from any claim, demand, or loss (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third party's rights.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email (for administrative accounts), and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and 21C-TECH LIMITED agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim, except that if you are a consumer resident outside England and Wales, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

17. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These Terms and our Privacy Policy form the entire agreement between you and 21C-TECH LIMITED regarding the Service.
